I’m currently reading this excellent book ” Seeing What Other People Don’t” by Gary Klein. The book explores how humans gain “insight” from looking at data and the world in which it sits. Therefore it has direct application to intelligence analysts, who are mostly human. (Take that any way you want…)
The book is provoking some serious thoughts from me , which I’m still cooking, but will be the subject of future blog post. Or more likely “posts” – plural. There is some important stuff to consider. But for now here’s a quote used by Gary Klein, that seems quite apposite for our field of endeavour.
The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance – it is the illusion of knowledge.
