Basic Open Source (OSINT) Research & Analysis Tradecraft


This course is designed to provide an intensive introduction and basic skills enhancement to people charged with the responsibility to perform OSINT research and SOCMINT tasks that may not have received any formal training in this area.


Learn the fundamentals of contemporary Open Source and Social Media Intelligence Tradecraft from recognised leaders in the field including:

  • Appreciation of the OS environment
  • Legal and Ethical Guidance
  • Tradecraft
  • Exploitation

The course will significantly enhance the trainee’s capabilities to maximise the resources, data and tools at their disposal to achieve organisational requirements.

Intended Audience

Anyone required to research, collect and analyse open sourced and social media based intelligence that has received no formal training in the subject.

Level – Students would be expected to be computer literate and able to conduct basic workflows.

Language – The course will be delivered in English.

Any requirements for overnight accommodation are the responsibility of the trainee.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided throughout all training courses.

Day-long course modules will include a buffet lunch. (Special dietary requirements must be noted at the time of booking)
